Future Directions
Community Provider Network
The Center for Healing and Hope is collaborating with regional physicians, laboratories,
pharmacies, and x-ray facilities in developing a community health care provider network.
In order for a family to qualify for the program, the social worker completes a financial
assessment. This process determines their ability to pay, based upon a standard sliding scale.
Then the family receives a Community Health Network identification card, indicating the discount
for which they are eligible. Upon presentation of the card to a provider, the provider discounts
their fee(s). Each family pays the discounted amount directly to the provider.
The Community HealthCare Network will also benefits immigrants who have adequate health
insurance, but experience health-care difficulties because of their linguistic or cultural
barriers. The Center for Healing and Hope’s vision is to provide a one-tier health system where
all people receive the same level of care regardless of their ability to pay.
Preventative Care
As health care needs in the greater Goshen community increase, it is pivotal that the Center for
Healing and Hope continues to serve the poor and uninsured. The Center for Healing and Hope will
refer patients to primary care physicians for preventive care. Children will receive routine
immunizations and physical examinations. Families will be educated regarding holistic family health
care. The Center for Healing and Hope will advocate with other community agencies, developing new
services where they do not exist.
Wholistic Care
The Center for Healing and Hope will collaborate with numerous churches in the greater Goshen
community to develop Spiritual Care Teams. Spiritual Care Teams will compassionately provide
patients who request spiritual support, such as prayer, encouragement, or healing from loss, with
these services. For those who do not have a church family and wish to find one, Spiritual Care
Teams will link patients with a compatible congregation for ongoing care.
